Hello everyone, this is my second post. So this time I will share with all of you my first and second week training session experience at unirazak. The first day started with anticipation from all the trainees. From the look on their faces I can tell that they were feeling the same as I do. The feeling of confusion, curiosity and also nervousness was taking over me but as soon as I enter the lecture room and join the others, I felt at ease and very comfortable and started to introduce myself and get to know the other trainees.
After a few moments, we were given a short brief about Biotechnology Corporation by Miss Farah. We give our full attention to all the details and information delivered by her. Lecture by Dr. Shamala on intellectual properties followed shortly after the short briefing.
We were divided into groups randomly, as a result eight groups was formed. We were asked to do our groups logo and motto. This activity was very fun and it did bring all the members of the group closer and successfully eliminate the awkwardness that was felt at the beginning.
On Friday we stated our module officially as we learn how to write a proper resume. I’d learn new techniques on how to grab the employer’s attention through an impressive resume. In order to improvise our knowledge and to apply the new skills and techniques that has been thought by Madam Liza and Madam Farahiya, we were given a task to be completed. A profile of a candidate was given and we were instructed to write an impressive resume for the candidate.
On the next session conducted by Madam Iris D’ cruz and Madam Suzelina, we were taught on how to conduct an effective meeting. Some of the key points to conduct a meeting successfully and the do’s and don’ts was explained to us by both of the lecturers. After the lecture, we we given a situation and we were instructed to do create a mock meeting.
Other than that, we also learnt about public speaking techniques in order to improve our communication skills. Mr. Farizal shared some valuable tips with us that will definitely be useful in improving our communication skill. The lecture was followed by presentation by selected groups. Advanced report skill was taught to us by Madam Liza and Madam Farahiya. Once again we gain new knowledge and techniques. The whole week was fun but at the same time it was a little bit tiring, not because of the progamme but traveling back and forth every day from Batu Arang to Kuala Lumpur could sometime be stressful. The KTM to Rawang is always full, packed like sardine in a tin and waiting for Batu Arang bus is another story but I’m getting used to it…hehehe. Bye for now.
